Drying off bolus
When drying off the cow, it is important to stop or at least reduce milk production (less than 10 litres/day). This reduces the chance of an udder spreading, which can be an important cause of udder infections. Furthermore, the pressure on the udder decreases, making this period less stressful for the cow, which is only positive for the cow's general well-being. Our dry-off bolus is intended not only to reduce the cow's milk production, but also to support the cow and reduce the risk of infections.
The drying bolus contains a herbal extract that is able to:
- Decrease milk production
- Have moisturizing effect, this also reduces milk production
- Relax the udder
- Have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects
Blend of flavourings, magnesium oxide, palm oil, pea flour, gum arabic (E414), magnesium stearate
Administer 1 bolus at last milking
Bolus of 50 gram
When drying, the following measures are recommended
- Adapted low-energy diet
- Keep dry animals separate
- If necessary, use a sealing gel for the udder
